First of all, what are you trying to do and why do you need an SQL database?

See if any of these links help with setup: http://www.google.com/search?client=...utf-8&oe=utf-8

MySQL is usually installed in tandem with Apache and PHP. I am assuming that you are wanting to install it in Windows. If so you can download phpdev from the firepages site.

Don't know. There is an administrative program of MySQL called mysqladmin for administering the database.

MySQL is a database just like MS Access. You can't connect the two although there are programs that will port your access db to MySQL.

first of all i dont mean to contradict anything you have just said

get mysql 5.0 here
If you are deciding to use it with windows then may i suggest the package underneath windows essentials, it is 44Mb and is most likely the one you need

get Mysql Administrator Here
this is used to create database schema's and generally administrate your mysql server

get Mysql query browser here
this is used to either view schema's and add databases to schema's and edit/add data to databases

Can access connect to MYsql, yes and no, yes you can by creating a database and creating a Link database from access but again you will need The Mysql ODBC driver be warned this can lead to a lot of trouble within mysql and access, things wont always work hand in hand and no it wont in the sence you cant create a database in mysql from access, refer to the mysql query editor or if you have created a database in access and want to move it to mysql, you would need to look for a 3rd party piece of software.

what else do you need, depends what you want to do? if you want to create an online shop then i suggest you download php apache and perl as well again if you are deciding on using windows get WAMPSERVER

right my fingers are tired now, you should have enough to get yourself going, although most of the questions could have been answered in a snap if you just use google!
