how do you secure a HTML site so you don't get hackers and spammers attacking it? Does anyone know the best, most secure and easiest way?

I have had a hacker in the past. I don't want them to tamper with my site, content or domain. I want it all secure with the highest level of security. Some help thanks!

Are you wanting to make the actual site safe or just the code?

Are you running your own server? Or renting one from a hosting company?
You can't really hide the HTML code.

They should be handling all the security stuff for you. I don't think there's a lot you can do on your end.

You really don't have anything to worry about. If you have only static HTML pages, no ones going to "hack" the code. If someone mess up your files, all you do is re-upload them. Which I doubt that's going to happen.
The only thing hackers would go after would be stealing data in databases, like client's credit card numbers and such. |

Actually if it is just HTML and no scripts then that is about as safe as you can get. About the only way they could get in would be via FTP, SSH or telnet. If you have CGI scripts then you just need to make sure that they are updated. I have had one site hacked in my life and it was the result of a sloppy host laying cgi scripts around and not keeping them updated. I no longer use that host.
