Help needed
Hi guys
Im not spamming! Now i need help. I have now made my own Computer and Computer Consoles forum and ive noticed Guests coming in and viewing the forum but are going straight out. I think its because the forums new and there isnt any membere or many posts so they are not bothering joining. Obviusly i cant make them join but i realy want to get the forum up and running. How can i make my forum good so people will join? Now im not too computer cleaver but i know a little bit about them and was hoping to get my forum running and its members helping each other out. Any advise would be appreciated. Thanks Last edited by AMD; 11-13-2005 at 04:13 PM. |

The key here is content. You cannot coerce people to create accounts on your forums, however you can entice them to. This can be done mostly if your site has more than just forums in there. When a site becomes older and more popular, you can get away with getting your members to generate new content through the forums, but it's a vicious cycle .. you cannot get new content from members because the people wont become members because there is no content in your forum in the first place. So the best way is to do this is to create good content on your main site and then get your visitors to understand that you have enough good material out there that it becomes worth their time to save your site on their frequented list. This is not something you can do overnight either, you need to have good content quite frequently, and you cannot just regurgitate content from other similar sites... there has to be a fresh angle that makes your site get more hits than the other places.
