vBulletin question

Hey all,

Just a question.

Does anyone know if vBulletin Version 3.5.3 is free or if you have to pay?

Im looking into making my own discussion forum but i would like a free forum other than Invisionfree.

Thanks.

Its $160. A bit pricey, but well worth it.

I've been impressed with http://www.xmbforum.com/

They have a decent free product. I like it better than phpBB and InvisionFree.

Forum software like vBulletin and phpBB is just the software. It requires a server to host it on.

I uesd to recommend PHPBB but there are other choices now and PHPBB has had some rather severe security issues as of late. Still a good board though.

Other good ones:
Phorum
XMBForum
SMF, rapidly becoming one of the most popular partially due to the fact of easy integration with some CMS's out there.

Play around with some of them over at OpenSourceCMS if you want.
