security warning on own site

on a webpage that i built, i get a security warning with ie:
"to help protect your security, ie has restricted this file from showing active content that could access your computer..."

what is ie talking about? i built this page and all it has is a couple of tables with text, pictures, anchors and links.
what's going on?
