Faulty Printing of Web Buy Receipt
Hi. I purchased an ebook from an online firm. When I finalized the purchase, the site encouraged me to print my receipt. So I have used the Print icon on my browser as well as choosing "File - Print" from the text menu on my browser.
With both print options, the page shows up with a very dark gray background (matching the background of the web site) and no data is visible in the table where the prices are supposed to be. There is black text on the page under the table, but none of my purchase data is visible. Anybody have an idea as to what would cause that? The site does not have an "Printer Friendly" version of the page. I've never had this problem before when printing confirmations. I contacted the web site but they claimed that something is wrong with my printer or printer settings. I've never had this problem with other receipts I've ever printed from the web. None - zilch, and I buy a lotta things from the web. I'm thinking that there is something wrong with their web site. I did a "print preview" and saved the print screen for it so you can see what I'm talking about. Any ideas? Thanks. Screenshot Last edited by Statica; 06-20-2006 at 06:04 PM. Sure is easier to blame someone else for a website problem. It has nothing at all to do with the printer since you see it before it is printed. That is why you have a printer friendly version so that it strips out the background colors. You could try saving the page and importing it into Word and changing the background.

Thanks for the novel idea, mairving -- and for confirming my original suspicion about that web site. I emailed them and encouraged them to fix the problem.
