webpage large image viewing

i'd like to to display panoramic images on my website but i'd like viewers to be able to scroll through the image by mouse position and not by using the scroll bars.
i've managed to embed a quicktime panorama movie/image here but for some reason it can't be viewed with ie (works with firefox).
this can be viewed with ie but it's small.
quicktime movies for panorama images are huge an i have limited space there.

i have other images which are not full 360 degrees and saving them as quicktime movies joins the edges and it looks silly.

how can i have the images scroll (same sort of effect as quicktime) but without using quicktime?

Probably the most widely used plugins to display panoramic images are Flash or QT. IMO Flash is more universal as most browsers seem to understand Flash. http://www.flashkit.com/tutorials/Ac...u-76/index.php is a good tutorial on using Flash.

Addendum: there are ready to use flash components that you can just drop in .. for example: http://flashloaded.com/flashcomponents/360panviewerpro/ or http://flashloaded.com/flashcomponents/360panviewer/
