basketball tournament bracket

i have a joomla site set up for an upcoming basketball tournament one of my buddies is hosting. i would like to set up a simple bracket for the tournament and i am trying to figure out the best way to do it. i searched for joomla components, but the only one i could find is the MyLanSite_Tournaments component. i installed it, but i was having some problems getting it to work, and it seemed like an awful lot of work when the only part of the component i really wanted was the bracket.

it doesn't need to be a component, i can set it up as a wrapper, but i don't know if its easiest just to create the bracket or if there is web software specifically designed for this

Any reason your are using an entire CMS for handling the production of a bracket? Seems to me a simple HTML page would work much better and be faster to produce.

its not just for the bracket, thats just a part of the site. plus, since i will not actually be at the tournament, i was hoping to find a component that would be incredibly easy to update by someone who isn't familiar with anything in terms of web sites.
