Geocities and phpMyAdmin
Hello, I just purchased a web hosting with Geocities... they support mysql and php and stuffs...
I set up my account at phpMyAdmin (eg username: abcde, password: xyz)... My problem arise when I try to connect to my database.... in my script to connect to the databases I have to put my username (abcde) and password (xyz) which I used to log in to phpMyAdmin... if in any cases, someone looked my php script and find out my username (abcde) and password (xyz) then they can easily log in to phpMyAdmin and erase all my tables? That means it's not safe at all.... Or I have done something incorrect? |

Geocities have SQL?
If you just got the hosting and there is a 30 day money back guarentee, or something like that, I suggest getting a better host. http://hostgator.com/shared.shtml - good packages for the price http://1and1.com - cheap and affordable, free domain, but the databases are only 100mb on the starting packages Edit (forgot to answer) You can use htaccess to make sure no one is hot linking your config file from a different domain. http://www.devpapers.com/article/242 Last edited by ChoboSeki; 01-23-2007 at 02:44 PM. |
