Quik Html Authoring Question

You know how u can use windows' note pad to write html because note pad is just plain text? I am new to OS-X and am wondering what can I use in iLife5 that works like note pad? I no very little about web creation but have learned a little html from HTML Goodies Want to setup a website to display photographs and learn with. Thanks

As long as it can edit text without inserting any special characters you can use any editor.
