Installing a favicon for blogger.com
I'm trying to install my own for my blogspot (http://chucktscanadiandream.blogspot.com/), but can't get it to work for the life of me.
For one, I don't think you can upload an .ico file to blogger. I tried to upload it to google pages, but after using this code: and inputting the code into my blogspot, it still doesn't work. Unfortunately I'm clueless as always with this, so any and all help is appreciated. |

Thanks for the help but it still doesn't work - that link keeps referring to myfavicon.com but it doesn't exist any more. Maybe some more info could get me more help:
I'm hosting the .ico at http://taylor.chuckts.googlepages.com/favicon.ico and after inputting this code: Quote:
EDIT: the html seems to disappear...not sure how to post the actual text... |

use the code tag instead of the quote tag.
You don't need to use a site like the article suggested. If you already have the ico file, the stuff you want is further down. [edit]: this is probably an easier read: http://tips-for-new-bloggers.blogspo...ogger-url.html Basically, all I'm doing is googling for blogger and favicon. http://www.google.com/search?client=...utf-8&oe=utf-8 |

Yeah, I already did a lot of searching but every site I've come up with hasn't helped, which lead me to come here :/
I actually used the exact code from your above link, but edited in my ico's url. Again, it gives me google pages' favicon instead of my own for some reason. Here's the code, which I inputted directly under the HTML Code:
<head>
HTML Code:
<link href='http://taylor.chuckts.googlepages.com/favicon.ico' rel='shortcut icon' type='image/vnd.microsoft.icon'/>
![]() EDIT: Figured it out! I had apparently named my favicon the same as google's, so blogger was reading google's instead. I renamed it, and presto, it works. Last edited by CleanChucks; 02-18-2008 at 09:47 PM. |
