access database on site?
Hi, there is data that I want to put on a website. I am new to Access, but wondered if the best way to do it is to make an access database. I really want this data to keep on the computer as well as have on the website in the easiest way to display and manipulate, but be flexible. What I had in mind was to have history for choirs and specials there. I wanted the date performed, service the song was performed, song performed, performer(s), accompanist (or source of accompaniment i.e. CD)This will continually be updated as we do them. I want to go back as far as our hard copies of bulletins allow (roughly early '70's.)
In fact, now that I think of it, my predecessor had a database set up (I might be able to modify it) that kept track of performance history. It would be on an older version, but still might be access. If not, can that data be exported to my database? I am vaguely familiar with separating by comma or tab, but have never done it. I am just aware such things can be done. I can ask the further questions on the other section here if need be, but want to be sure before I start that it is the best way to get the stuff on site as well as keep records here. I have just done the past few years on a Word document and don't want to do that anymore. Thanks.
