AJAX Question

I am creating a website that has 4 links on the left side of the page. I want to be able to click on these links and have content from another html page appear in the center. I want the transition to appear seamless without reloading/refreshing the entire page and without using iframes so I thought AJAX would be appropriate. My question is simply what script(s) should I use to achieve this. I don't have a test server so I thought I would get something in place and then go back and test it out later. If anyone has any suggestions it would be much appreciated. Thanks

AJAX is basically the way you can communicate with javascript to a server-side page, such as a PHP page. So, you will need to set up some sort of test server.

Just try a google search for ajax tutorial, ajax introduction, ajax beginner, or something along those lines. There are a good many resources available out there.

You may also want to take a look at Prototype.js or jQuery, as they have a framework built and ready to work with AJAX functions, so you don't have to deal with all the nitty gritty intricacies of javascript and AJAX

I use SACK (Simple AJAX Code-Kit) http://www.twilightuniverse.com/projects/sack/

I think that's exactly what you're looking for.
