My friend recently paid $1600 for a 13 page website design in San Francisco with additional costs of $85hr for any additional changes to his pages. After the initial website setup they have been making all kinds of mistakes and wanting to charge him for any additional time to fix them. Anything from misplaced contents, typos, etc. On top of that they have been providing really bad service with a poor attitude over the phone.

Are there any alternatives to handling this situation? Is there a place for people to leave reviews on this web design company?

I can't really help you with the situation, but most designers should give the customer at least one review of the site before it becomes "live." During that review the customer can make all the changes they want at no extra charge. It sounds to me like they are abusing the customer. Did he sign any contract before they started the work? You should look in there to see what is says about this.

As for review sites, you should just try and Google them up to see what you can find. I know I have seen a few before, but I couldn't find a bookmark on my end nor could I find them when I Googled.

Who is responsible for creating the content? If the client gives the designer the content with typos, it's not the designer's fault.
