Private Domains

I am looking at starting a site and I have the domain but is it worth it to be about $9 a month extra to have it private? I looked up the domain and did the whois on GoDaddy and all my info came up, my name, address and phone #. Do you recommend having it private?

It's $9 a year, not month.

Like GLC said its an annual fee not a monthly fee. But the privacy should not be an additional fee, go daddy likes to nickel and dime people like the phone company. Look at fastdomain.com
They offer tons of stuff in their package compared to go daddy. I use them for all my customers and my sites as well.

The only time I would recommend displaying your info is technical support if you design website for customers and they need assitance, the rest should be covered for privacy, if someone needs to know something in reference to your site, they can contact you through your online form
