Displaying Google Calendar without being logged in
Hey all,
I'm building a website for a friend to promote her music, and I'm trying to embed a calendar into the site that shows her schedule / availability. She has a gmail account, so I thought Google calendar would be the easiest solution. The embed was simple, but I ran into something that may turn out to be an issue. Apparently, you have to be logged into your Google account in order to display the feed online. I'm currently testing it with my own account and server, and when I visit the page while logged in my calendar and events are displayed. When I log out and refresh the page, the calendar stays but the events disappear. The calendar is marked as public, and is being embedded as an iframe. I'm creating this for a non-tech person who does not leave her email logged in all the time. Does anyone know a solution for this, or an alternative calendar program? Thanks!

Update: I tried viewing the calendar online (I have it hosted on my website) while logged into another gmail account, and the events did not show up, even though I (the calendar owner) was logged in on my macbook.
What gives? I even embedded it using the private link, which is supposed to allow viewing while not logged in, but it too will not display the events when viewed on another computer while logged in to a different google account. Update 2: I unticked / reticked the "make calendar public" box, and actually got a pop-up confirmation window this time. I clicked ok and now everything is working, even when I'm logged out and viewing it while logged in to another gmail account. The cool bit is I have it publically hide her event details, so it only lists if she is available / busy for certain days. That is awesome, and very privacy oriented. I wonder if the problem was related to all the issues Google has had today. When I updated my own calendar earlier I got an error page, but it went away after refreshing everything. Anyway, sorry for all the posts! Last edited by tomster2300; 05-14-2009 at 07:00 PM. |

I embedded one just the other day and had the same problem. Once I made it public, it worked. It took a few times to figure that out though.
