tieing multipliable servers to one site

I am new to web hosting and currently programming my first big site. But I was wondering how it worked with server hosting when I had multipliable ones for one site. Because I was looking at servers and realized that they were limited on the resources of servers. So, I was wondering if it is possible to tie multipliable servers to just one site. I guess that I can reprogram the site to direct different servers to different parts of the site, but I realized that would take a lot of work.

So, basically I was just wondering if there is a program where I can tie multipliable servers to just one site.

Thanks for anyone help that anyone can provide.

Approx how many Millions of vistors do you expect each day? Will they be downloading HUGE files off your site? And or what type of things will your large offer that require a lot of resources?
