Does anyone know of a "Wizard" type program to create an install program for a HTML based website. Basically I want to:
1. create and copy the data to a file in C:\Windows\Program Files\ 2. Install a custom icon that I created to the desktop and link it to the "index.htm" file to start the website. This is a small site that I furnish on a floppy but the "non computer" types are having a hard time setting it up manually. |

Hi ut1205,
Have you thought of using a batch file? Just name a file install.bat and use the copy command to copy the files over to the needed directories.

I found a program on CNet Downloads called Inno Setup that does everyting I want except the desktop icon is a standard IE icon. It appears that the only way I can use my custon icon (ico. file) is to make it an .exe. I know almost nothing about programming. What software do I need to make this icon an executable?

The .bat file idea works great. I'm already using it in Win 95/98 but I'm having a problem with the Quick Launch Taskbar in Win2k (see my post under 2k). Thanks again, this is the second time you've helped me out of a fix.
