This is what I've been doing for the most part...

I used to be a person who loved goofing around computers, by that I mean building them and fixing them. However, the last 3-4 years I been putting my energy into website design and graphics design. Here's my main website: Pepster's Place, it still isn't totally done for I have some tweaking and want it to look good when JavaScript is disabled. However, for the most part it is done and I will be going onto other adventures in the graphics world once this is totally done. The funny thing is I have been using the same computer for the last 4 years and it's still pretty fast for me, I can run the latest applications such as Photoshop, After Effects and other high demanding apps. I guess building a computer does have it's advantages for you can build the computer to the specs you want. I know you can do that with brand manufacturers but to me it is not the same. Well at least to me it isn't, that is why I haven't been so active here on PCMech, but then again I haven't really been that active here in a long long time.

Take care everyone, I don't come here from time to time just to search the new posts and see what's new in computing.

Don't feel bad, the build that I did 5 years ago is still my primary computer. Still does the job just fine.

Nice smooth running site Strider. I hope you do well with your ambitions.

I had an interest in constructing web sites a good while back and still have an interest in graphic/image programs. I ran one site that gave TV and video recorder faults advice (when those items were worth repairing) and another that just showed my own and Mrs martson's pastime interests. I put these together using a program called Namo WebEditor. Images were processed in Corel Photo-Paint.

Websites look a lot better now than the ones I did, yours included of course. Mine were functional but not particularly nice looking like yours is. Then again, they were done years ago in pure HTML and they had to be not too slow to load because people were mostly still on slow dial-up connections. The TV/video recorder advice site became redundant and has gone now but I've kept the pastimes site there for what it's worth. Here it is:

Cross stitch, Crafts and Photo restoration

Just a small section in it talks about the TV trade as it once was.

I was often asked to optimise images for a company's web site. No images above 40KB in file size and below that if possible. Removing the number of colours in GIFs to knock a few bytes off all helped with page loading times. The company was particular about it. I suppose you don't need to worry about that kind of thing now?

What does 'Pepster' mean anyway? Always been curious.

Hi, I am taking a real quick breather at work before evening service starts, so I hope to look at your site later. For now, did you mean you do come here from time to time?
