I would like to learn basic HTML

I would like to start learning a little of HTML. I would like to include links on these forums but change the appearence of the link by just one word or something like that to shorten long links. If anybody can point me in the direction they took to learn basics I would appreciate it. Thanks

HTML Goodies is the best HTML info site in my opinion. Check out the primers too, they're great for beginners.

I will second that one. I had a night job a few years ago in tech support. Well it was pretty slow, so I learned how to code in HTML at Html Goodies. Pretty good site. I also like having a book, "Web Design in a Nutshell" as a reference. It has some good tricks, info on all the tags, etc.

Guys,

I just wanted to say Thanks! This really made my day!

One question, after submitting the reply I noticed that the link was not blue in color like all the rest on this thread. I know that once you click on the link it greys itself out but mine was never blue even before I clicked on it. Any help would be appreciated.

This link doesn't look blue because you have already visited the page (pcmech), make a link to another web page that you have visited before and it will appear grayed.
