Writing a driver for Red Hat 7.2

I need to write a driver for a WMP11 Linksys Wireless network card. On the linksys homepage it says that it will work on any major OS.
I was told that I would probably need to write my own driver to get the damn thing working and I have no idea how to! All im looking for is a link to a tutorial or some basic instructions to get me started on this. Thanks,,,,Late
