I am learning access. I created a Address book table that has FirstName, LastName, address1, address2, Z_code etc., query and a form to display all related details when I enter LastName. This is working fine.
My problem is I don’t like the “enter Parameter value” pop up where you enter the lastname to get the related display. I want to enter the last name or query data directly into the form to get the related display. Please help. |

Just to be clear,
You do not want to use the 'search/find record' feature of the database, you want to be able to enter a record (new or existing on the form), type in the name and have the related fields populate, correct? My first thoughts are to have a sub form in your form, the main form has the 'search for' field, the subform displays the results of the search, while it is not a pop up, it would serve the same purpose. DoctorGonzo, do you have a better idea? |

That idea is fine. Either use a subform or open another form with the details. Both will work.
