Error Installing Visual C++ 6.0

Please help me as I have been getting this error lately when I even attempt to install Visual C++.
I remember before my recent format I had it installed, no problems then. Now it gives me these two errors:

(AUTORUN has been disabled on my system)
When I run SETUP.EXE, select my add remove options then attempt to proceed to the next step it says; "Error Launching E:\acmboot.exe" And telle me to referr to the MSDN online support for help, searched the site. No help there.

When I run acmboot.exe myself, directly that is, I get the following error; "E:\acmboot.exe The parameter is incorrect."

Please help!
Thanks in advance too
