new to html , want to build a forum
hi
i a building a website to be used by some of my friends and i would like to add forum. i have no pc that i cvan leave online all the time, and i only have free webspace. can this be done , and if so how?????? |

It is doubtful if you can do this on a free webhost. Most forum software would require PHP/MySQL. Some hosts may provide PHP but probably not MySQL. There are versions of forum software that runs on Perl/CGI and flat files but it's performance is pretty bad. So that's the bad news. The good news is that you can get a host that supports these for a small fee of $5-10/month.

You can get remote forum hosting from sites such as cgispy.com (I think that's the link)

i used to use a text based forum on tripod. it didn't require a mysql or any other database... i'll look around for it.
