You can't get around learning programing languages to create a great visual dynamic website no matter how small you want it. Lets face it, your website will either make or break your business...first impressions is everything in the first few minutes that a customer visits your site. Just take a look at your own surfing habits and ask yourself would I do business with them?
Programing, content and graphic displays play an important role in web site design and takes lots of effort and time to learn. Most designers do this for a living and constantly learn their trade to stay up to date on new techniques. Would you do your business and offer your services for free? As far as what designers charge it depends on how many web pages and if java, cacading style sheets, ecommerce, databases, forums, site maintenance and up-dating is used on the site. It's like walking into an auto dealership and telling the salesman that you want to buy a vehicle without telling him the make, model, color and engine size.

Another plug for Front Page. For the price it is a pretty powerful program. You can download Dreamweaver to try for a month from Macromedia. It is more expensive, but as they say, you get what you pay for. A good free program to do what you are looking for may be Composer. It comes free with Netscape.

Composer in either netscape or Mozilla works for me...Those and FrontPageExpress are what you are seeking though, they are called WYSIWYG, and it means what you see is what you get, and it just what you want...Copy and paste what you want in there...

Not sure if this is deeper than you want to dig or not, but their is an excellent program that make flash design EASY. You can insert images, text, text effects, sounds, and it has a really easy learning curve, very friendly interface, anyway just check out the website at swishzone.com.

i would recommend dreamweaver. it's easy to use, and lets you add some complex-looking effects into your web page very easily. front page is also a pretty good program.

I like aceHTML from Visicom Media.
It is easy to use and it is free, though you can pay to get the more functional version. For what you need it would be perfect.

I'll plug Dreamweaver. I'm the opposite of force_flow2002 in that I've trie FrontPage and was kind of lost (I've been a Dreamweaver user since version 3). If you're just starting out though, FrontPage is the easiest to use when wanting Cascading Style Sheets (It does most of the work for you). Two things against FrontPage is that it; 1) places a LOT of extra code on your pages and, 2) You need the Hosting company to enable FrontPage extensions.
