Don't know if this is the right forum ???
I have an application that is hardcoded with a specific file/saves as location ... which always defaults to "c:\documents and settings/%userprofile%/My Documents" Without re-coding this app, I want to run linkd or some other Microsoft utility to link the local "c:\documents and settings/%userprofile%/My Documents" to the netwok home drive which would be "f:\%userprofile%\\My Documents" I am trying to create symbolic links or as Microsoft calls them Junctions, so far I cannot make this work with network drives only local ones. This utility "linkd" only works with local drives but I was able somehow create a network link by using the destination as "file:///F:/%userprofile%/My Documents". This created the link but made the local file ..."source" un-usable, I would 2x clic on it and I would receive " c:\filename is not accessible The filename , directory, or volume label syntax is incorrect. Need help! |
