I am trying to position text directly over an image. As soon as the browser is resized, it moves. I've been attempting this with absolute positioning and { left: xx%; top: xx% }.
Is there a set way to position text so that it stays where it is positioned no matter how the browser is resized? This is really driving me up the wall ![]() Any suggestions are appreciated. And just so you know, I've only really been exposed to the CSS commands for a few days.

CSS is not an exact science. There is no way to get the text exactly vertically centered, even in IE which is probably the easiest. What are you trying to do, maybe there is an easier, better way.

I dunno. I tried transparent giffs, but that left an outline on the text.
Okay maybe I should tell you what's going on. I have a mouseover script for a center pic and 6 "buttons" surrounding it, that were also mousovers. The middle changes with each button and each buttion has text that changes color. Now, with everything as images, the download time was too long. So, I wanted to see if I could get rid of the button mouseovers and position text instead. |
