visual basic 4 professional edition

I bought this from ebay but it seems not to install in my Windows98 pentium P200 system. Always stalls when in setup. Is Visual Basic 4 just for windows 95 ? Can I apply a patch or download from Microsoft ?

Visual Basic 4.0 installs on Windows 98

Hello and thanks for all 4 viewers. The problem I am having is setup stalls, just the time clock after copying help files ! I had problems with installing Visio 3.0 for windows 3.1 last week where same problem occurs near the end of setup process.

This morning I decided to try the following:

First, I want to see if the problem is related to my PC not able to install any products. I tried to install IBM world encylodea for IBM windows 98 PC, it installed fine.

Second, I disabled all applications that are running, like roboform, MSN messenger, just leave Norton auto protect on and answer no to cleansweep monitoring setup install.

Don't know why, Visual Basic 4.0 Professional edition and MSN VB development kit both installed successfully.

My conclusion is VB 4.0 will install fine on Windows 98 even though it said for windows 95 or NT and windows 3.1 only.

When I have time I'd like to reinstall Visio 3.0 for windows 3.1 which currently was not working properly because it was not installed properly (didn't get successful installed msg). It works but have to use task manager to close the visio program.
