postgresql or mysql
Hello,
I am just wondering if there are any advantages of postgresql databases over mysql databases? I have only used mysql so far, but, I just got a new hosting deal, and they offer me 4 databases, and I can chose whether i want postgresql or mysql. I already have a mysql database running my invision forum, but i now have a couple of little php programs to write that require database to hold data. I am willing to experiment and well, was just wondering if it is worth my while or not. Thanks David |

MySQL is more widely used and I think a better db. There are also many scripts written with MySQL in mind. You could get them to work with a Postgresql database, but they would have to be modified some. I would stick with MySQL.
