That's what I dont understand...so I have to buy server space to put my php site on. Well I know you have to buy space to put a website on, but I was hoping that I could do it through php somehow for free. Long time ago I used to have my own little dorky site which I did through fortunecity and I built using Frontpage. I saw that through php nuke that you could have your own domain name--which is what I'd like...but I didnt think you had to buy space for it. I dont understand how php works at all and I wish someone would explain it to me. Thanks.

you do need to buy some webspace if you want to host a site, then you upload PHP-Nuke to the site, do some configurations, and your site will be ready to add content, the steps are explained in detail in PHP-Nuke's readme, if you have any questions, just ask, and we'll try to help.
There are some free hosting services with PHP support, but they disable the PHP features, and add ads all over your pages, you may try them, but buy a host would be much better. You can find free PHP/MySQL hosting here: http://www.tripod.co.uk/ |
