tansefer excel field to Access Database
how to transfer some excel field into access database
for example. i have an excel form i want to transfer severl field from this form into access database how can i do it what is the best way to do it |

In Acess go to the" File" tab then down to "get external data" select your excel file then click" import"
you may have to do some tweaking to get it the way you want it to look, but this should get you started. Mike

just a note- if you are using the latest Access there is a bug in the import wizard.
Normally you can go through all the data columns and dictate the data type (for example a social security number is NOT a number- the leading zeros are good so you make this a text field otherwise access treats it as a number and strips off the leading zeros), but this does not work in Access 2003. No fix to my knowledge has come out so what you do is run through the import, delete the data and then modify the created table the way you want it and re do the import but instead of a new table just use the one that you created in the first import and then cleaned and tweaked. Older versions do not have this bug
