System sometimes assigns wrong icon to files
I noticed that in one of my folders, the folder where I play Sega ROMS, has files that after refresh get wrong icons. For example there was supposed to be an .exe file with a specific icon. After refresh it was given IE shortcut icon. After I do refresh again it gives it back the correct icon. I know it may not be a big deal but the fact that it happens at all is disturbing. What could be wrong?

After a refresh the problem goes away. Nothing more to be upset about. This stuff happens... it's called Windows.

It sounds like your icon cache is corrupted. Tweak UI (a free powertoy from Microsoft) has an option to clear out the icon cache. I think it gets that way when system resources are low and something gets mucked up in explorer (that's the most technical explanation I have).
