Problem installing IDE controller in XP Pro

I am buidling up a system (A7NX8-X) with the SIIG Sil 0680 Dual IDE ATA 133 RAID controller (but not using the raid feature). There is a WD 1200 drive connected to it that is inaccessible now, as I can't get the controller drivers installed. When it boots, an IRQ is assigned to "unknown PCI device".
I lost the original drivers on the floppy disk, so I went to the SIIG site and got the Windows (including XP) drivers for it...but there is no setup, it's just the driver files.
When the P&P finds the new device, (mass storage controller) I point the installation wizard to the SIIG folder in which I placed the driver files; then after scanning the folder, it says "The hardware was not installed because the wizard could not find the necessary software". The OEMSETUP.inf file is there and seems to be the one for Sil 0680. The VXD is there along with about 6 other files.
I was previously using this IDE controller in a system with XP Home, and it worked fine, and I had no problem installing it using drivers I got from the SIIG site last year (unfortunately didn't keeep them , I guess). Seems to be an issue with XP Pro.
I tried putting the files on my zip drive, same result. Haven't tried putting them on floppy yet, but I don't see why it would install only that way. Any help aprreciated Jim

I had a similar problem late last year with my son's old IBM PC. It wasn't until I put the drivers on a floppy on my PC, then ran on his PC at bootup that I got them to install properly. Try using the drivers on a floppy, sure can't hurt.thorlo6
