Question XP Folder Settings

I'm not sure what's going on but every time I change a folder's view settings on my computer, it goes back to default when I restart my computer. I've gone to Folder Options and checked "Remember each folder's view settings."...but it doesn't work.

help.

If you have XP Pro:
Start > Run > gpedit.msc > Administrative Templates > Desktop > Don't Save Settings > change to Disabled

If not try this download.

When going into gpedit.msc, make sure you go to User Configuration then Admin Templ. and Desktop.

Good link Andy, but what is actually happening underneath that program.... try this link if you want to change the settings manually. http://www.tweakxp.com/tweak1922.aspx

I remembered there was a reg edit somewhere, but I couldn't remember and didn't feel like digging through all those tips at TweakXP .
