Hi
I'm using windows XP. I'm finding that when I try to open programs or just a folder there is a delay of 10 sec or so. When closing programs the END NOW option pops up. I have ran N.A.V., SpyBot, AdAware. Any Ideas what the problem could be.

Is your processor running at 100% (ctrl+alt+del to check)? Although checking this is pointless if you run any distrubited computing programs, like f@h, how many processes do you have running?

Ah yes, that could cause it
. I'm assuming it was via the Automatic Update feature. You may want to disable that, if you will remember to check for and download the updates manually. To do so go to Start > Control Panel > System > Automatic Updates Tab > Uncheck the checkbox next to "Keep my computer...".
