Question XP Right Click

Hi All

Very strange problem, i can not right click on icons or shortcuts, the system just reports an error the screen flashes and just come back on, can not even do it in control panel, have tried all my recovery points but to no avail, have scanned for trojans and viruses, and got the all clear? any idea's

i thnk uu have a virus. some viruses can disable your av sofware w.out u knowing. i suggest you scan for viruses online.

done an on-line scan as advised, system is clear no other problems apart from the right click

Spyware can also create the problem you're having...along with a multitude of others.

If you haven't already, download, install, immediately update and then run Spybot and/or Ad-Aware. Read the help files to familiarize yourself with how they work. I recommend you use them both since each tends to find things the other misses. Let them clean up any spyware found.

tried both and found quite a few, but none that were causing the problem? even tried microsofts so called fix by turning of the effects in display properties

no using a Genius netscroll+eye optical mouse, tried a normal PS/2 mouse but to no avail
