Preventing folders from being modified?
How can I prevent My folders from being renamed or moved to another location? But I want the files in that folder to be edited by cetain users only but not copied, moved, renamed or delete.
Thanks |

In general, if someone can edit, they can delete. Think about it, with edit privelege, I could open the file, delete everything from it, then save it. Maybe I haven't deleted it, but it's the same effect.
You can set permissions for a file or folder (in Windows 2000) by right-clicking on it, choose properties and looking at the "security" tab. I assume you're talking about users over a network, but it probably applies to local users just the same. |
