Please re-install a copy of the above file" So I found the same fille on my other XP system, How do I copy this file to the corrupted system? Do I need to go into DOS ? Whats the sequence to correct this? Thanks - Henry |

Were you in the BIOS recently and made changes to the ACPI settings?
Either way, might go into the BIOS and disable ACPI. |

Thanks for the info, I am working on it. I did disable the ACPI and that gave me a different error message. I'm still in the recovery process doing a chkdsk scan. Will keep everyone posted.
Thanks Henry |

Everything i tried fails. Whe in the recovery process the scan features give me the following message: Error: Failed to successfully scan disks for Windows installations This error may be caused by a corrupt file system, Use chkdsk to detect any disk error - Then chkdsk stops at 25% for the same reason disk error. Is it possible that the HDD is bad or should i reinstall WinXP - This is not my system - one I build for someone several months ago. I am all ears
Thanks Henry |
