Locks Up - Blank Screen - Sound "Flickers"

ok, i'll be doing something, and my computer will lock up, screen will go blank, and my sound will get all jittery.

windows xp
1gig ram
p4 2.66 HT
64 ati vid card
audigy 2
asus p4p800 deluxe motherboard
2 wd 80 gig hard drives

Sounds like a hardware issue rather than a software problem if it occurs randomly. Worth checking if your graphics card & sound card are seated correctly, check your ram with memtest86.
