Illegal copies of XP

I always heard XP was impossible to hack. You couldnt just use a serial like before. I have heard of some people that it seems never have to activate it.

Can you use illegal copies of xp and if so what do they do different to use it? Anything that wont work on it like maybe updates? Thanks just tring to get things straight

Yes, there are illegal copies of XP floating around out there that don't need activation. M$ knows about this and Service Pack 1 will not work on them. Service Pack 2 probably won't either.

Discussions about how to get around software requirements or pirate software are not allowed here, just so you know.

Wrong. SP1 works fine, it's SP2 that's a nono.
End of discussion.
