Anyone seen this before?
A friend of mine emailed me the attached image. He has no idea why the desktop looks like that and he can't figure out how to get rid of the thick bar on the left side of the desktop. I haven't seen the computer yet and don't know what kind of background programs are running on the computer but I can try to find out.
If anyone has any idea about this, please let me know how to get the desktop back to normal. Thanks. Cricket

Hi Cricket,
Never seen that but I did some searching and found it's something in the registry that needs changing. Something called "Common Tasks"...never seen it but this utility is supposed to fix it. Hope it helps. CLICK HERE

I've seen a few Windows Longhorn wanabee "theme" updates that would do something similar. Check the themes option in desktop properties.
