Can You Copy an Installed Program to Another Computer Without Program Installer
Is it possible to copy an installed program to another computer without using the program installer. I wouldn't want to make an image of an entire disk to do that but just copy one already installed program from my laptop to my desktop.
I know that an installed program has different things installed in different areas of windows but I just thought that maybe there might be a way or a program that might be able to find and copy those hidden parts of the already installed program and then put them in the proper places on the desktop. Only works if the program is not involved with the registry. Generally, if it is not listed in Add/Remove programs area of Control Panel, you can access it from another computer and download it. If it is in Add/Remove, it won't work.

Other than mainly small diagnostic applications, I haven't come across any large programs that will transfer from one modern system to another. Now, with win95 and once in a while, 98SE, I was able to move programs, but anything after that, it's not very likely.

Actually, with some programs, when you try to run them, it says what file is missing, so you can then look for it.
