Need help w/ clean install of WinXP Home

A friend is having major problems with the dialer.8.u trojan that probably came through Kazaa. We are going to probably do a clean install of Win XP Home. Anyone know some good sites for instructions on how to do this?

Thank you. (Also, has anyone been successful in eradicating this trojan?)

Just drop the CD into the drive and boot from the CD when prompted. It will walk you thru the setup (do a format when asked).

You can try this :
clean out your internet files and cookies

delete the .dat files in the temp directory
in the registry, delete the key "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\MC"

with hijack this remove :

O9 - Extra button: Microsoft® JavaScript® Console (HKLM)
O9 - Extra 'Tools' menuitem: JavaScript Console (HKLM)
