. . . if you find that you are still pulling your hair out trying to find which of the many causes your errors could be coming from, you could try the SwissArmyKnife approach & try an "over-the-top" reinstall [and then visit Windows Update for any Critical Updates it detects are necessary].
The over the top should only take about 40 minutes. Make sure to disable the Bios AntiVirus, and unplug from networks, cameras, scanners, card readers, etc. http://forum.pcmech.com/showthread.p...threadid=70846 If you can, let us know if one of the mskb repairs or the over-the-top helped fix things (then other visitors to the forum can benefit from your experience!) Best of luck . . . Gary |

I did a search with the last part of the string:
VXD VWIN32(05) + 000012D0 and came up with many links to explore. one interesting one on expert's exchange forum (you have to set up a membership in order to see the replys) is listed below: According to techadvice.com : Fatal exception 0E has occurred at 0028:C02A27A8 in VXD VWIN32(05) + 000012D0/+000012D, win98 Solutions: One user has reported it was caused by a bad system FAN causing overheating Another user has reported that this error message was caused by the Backdoor.NTHack virus which installed winproxy 3.0 (mmtask.exe) and tried to steal passwords 0028:C02A27A8 VXD VWIN32(05) +000012D due to conflicts with Pest Patrol Another user has reported that it was caused by Norton AntiVirus 2001 automatic update running at startup (ntdetect in scheduled tasks). He disabled the task in safe mode, and it booted fine without the error. After manually running Live Update, he re-enabled the task and the Computer worked fine. This is just one link. There are quite a few others you could read. |
