Is this is a legal CD? If so it appears that the CD is damaged - contact your vendor and explain to them that its a damaged CD.

You might also clean off any smudges that could be causing read problems. If that doesn't work, then I would try the CD in another computer and see if it can read it.

Send a message via MSN to doctorgonzo
Are you sure that you are setting the boot sequence correctly and saving the changes?

Is there another CD drive you could try?

Many of the 2k cd's will not boot. The orignal version + many others all the way to the 2kpro urgrade CD's will simply require the 4 floppy boot disk.

Nice page Statica!

Loosing bios setting would point to a Mother Board Battery.

I was having trouble installing Windows XP Pro and even bought a new one because it wouldn't load. While waiting for the new one to arrive, I visited this site and read the forum for Windows Software problems and perhaps, why it wouldn't load and it said one problem might be any usb devices that are hooked up to the computer while trying to load the OS could keep it from loading. Do you have any USB devices hooked up to the computer? you could try disconnecting them and see if that might work. It did for me.
