Windows XP Serious Error Message

I have a computer running Windows XP Professional, ECS motherboard, P3-1GHz CPU, 80G HD and 384MB Ram.

Recently on power up it will occassionally pop up an Windows Error Message with the following information:

BCCode: d1
BCP1: 00000000
BCP2: 00000016
BCP3: 00000000
BCP4: F73E8F1E
OSVer: 5_1_2600
SP: 1_0
Product: 256_1

Windows XP will automatically recover from this serious error and continue to operate.

Any idea whether this is a hardware or software problem?
