New Network Card
I have a Windows 98 SE computer, and have just recently installed a network card into it, after setting it up it was working fine, but every so often when I boot up I get the following message:
Network Adapter Sis 900 PCI.... is not working properly. And asks to be set up again, btu the only way I could get round it was to boot up into safe mode once, and it would work. thanks for any help. |

I'll assume the Win98 machine isn't the one in your signature? [if it is, you might want the patch for >2ghz cpus, which can affect the network timings - this trouble usually shows up during installation, though, and with the "ndis" file = here's the link, should you need it http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;312108]
Otherwise, see if a visit to the website or your network card's manufacturer yields an updated driver you could try. If you have both a network connector on your motherboard, and the add-in network card as well, you might want to update the drivers for both. Best of luck . . . Gary |
