A little tip about virtual memory settings
After I finished my new computer,I wanted to load up an old golf game. Well when it started to load, it said not enough memory. What!!!! I have a gig of ram. Looked at the virtual memory settings and the min was at 8megs. Changed it to 30megs and it loaded the game.

That's odd. Normally windows will set minimum to 1.5 x installed memory and maximum to 3 x installed memory. I've seen glc mention that he just sets his min and max to the 3 x number.
