Local Drive Letters Screwed UP!!
I just installed a S ATA Western Digital Raptor and Windows has named the Drive, The (F) drive. I have tried changing it from the disk management utility but it says it is unable to change the drive letter. Is there any other way I can do this?

Nope.
With IDE drives you would have to physically change the HD to a different port, I don't know about SATA but they probably get assigned drive letters last so changing the physical location will not help. Looks like you're outta luck. But in the end, what is a drive letter anyway? Just create a shortcut on the desktop with whatever name you want.

You can change every drive letter in disk management *except* the system drive.
So I guess your SATA drive is the system drive. Only possibility to change its letter is by reinstalling Windows. Quote:

Right, with XP you can change the drive letter in disk management by right clicking on the partition and clicking change drive letter and paths.
