Schedualed Tasks
Im trying to set up a schedualed task on my XP PC so that everyday it backs up certain files onto my other hard drive, the only problem is, when I try to set it as a schedualed task it asks for a password for it to work - but if I put a password in, will it give my entire account a password, which I dont want or need.
If it does, is there a way around it? thanks |

No, that's an old problem that M$ has acknowledged in XP. See this article.
Interestingly, a couple years ago when I found this article it said it was a known bug; now it's a security feature. Thus, you either have to have a password on your account, or use an account that has a password. |

I don't know of any software programs to do this. Instead, you could always create a new user account with a password. You don't have to use this acount for anything other than running scheduled tasks. When you set up a scheduled task, you can specify the user it runs as.

OK, I set up another account with a password ect and it works.
Now, is there a way where you can make it so when you switch on the computer, it just logs automatically onto my nomral original account, without stopping at the welcome screen with both accounts? Because I will never really have to get into the other one. thanks for any help |
